Deadline 9 Sept 2015: The Indigenous Women’s Fund

The Indigenous Women’s Fund seeks to invest resources to achieve the fulfillment of individual and collective human rights of Indigenous women.

The Fund has issued a call for proposals in search of innovative and sustainable project proposals that aim to promote the well-being and “buen vivir” of Indigenous peoples, based on the principle of free, prior, and informed consent. Priority thematic areas consist of Education, Empowerment, Access to Political Power, and Institutional Strengthening.

Co-financing of $5,000 is provided to support projects led by indigenous women for one year. Priority is given to proposals from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

In order to be eligible, the applicant must be a community of indigenous or tribal peoples, or organization/association/group of indigenous women and be registered in their country with a bank account under their name.

The application deadline is September 9, 2015, at 12:00 p.m. Peru time.
