ISE Student/Recent Graduate Prize to be awarded during the 2012 ISE Congress

Win recognition for your work as a student of ethnobiology! The ISE will award three prizes to student presenters at the Congress for: (1) an oral presentation, (2) a poster presentation and (3) an alternative format contribution (video, non-academic poster, poetry, performance, other).

The application period for the 2012 ISE Student/Recent Graduate Prize is now closed.

Student eligibility:

  • MSc and PhD students currently enrolled or who have received the degree less than one year before the ISE congress (students with a graduation date of May 20th 2011 or later are eligible to apply).
  • Students must already be confirmed as Congress presenters (either oral or as a poster), or for an alternative format contribution (video, non-academic poster, poetry, performance, other).
  • Presentations co-authored by students or recent graduates are accepted. Co-authorship with non-students is allowed only if the student or recent graduate (a) is the first author, (b) is the presenter, and (c) has led most of the research and writing.

Evaluation criteria:

For the three categories (oral presentation, poster presentation, alternative format):

  • Creativity in the approach
  • Clarity and well-structured organization

  • Layout and format of presentation, staying with time constraints
  • Fielding of questions from the audience (when applicable)

Additionally, for oral and poster presentations:
